The SAMI Galaxy Survey: early data release and first science
The Sydney–AAO Multi-object Integral field spectrograph (SAMI) Galaxy Survey is an ongoing project to obtain spatially resolved spectroscopic observations of ∼3400 galaxies by mid-2016. To date, a total of ∼1000 galaxies have been observed, making the SAMI Galaxy Survey the largest integral field survey in existence. In July 2014 the early data release for the SAMI galaxy Survey occurred, with ...

Disordered eating in Sami and non-Sami Norwegian populations: the SAMINOR 2 Clinical Survey
OBJECTIVE The present study aimed to investigate disordered eating (DE) among Sami compared with non-Sami residing in northern Norway. DESIGN In a cross-sectional design, stratified by sex and ethnicity, associations were tested between DE (Eating Disturbance Scale; EDS-5) and age, education level, BMI category, anxiety and depression, physical activity and consumption of snacks. SETTING Th...
متن کاملThe 6dF Galaxy Survey
The 6dF Galaxy Survey (6dFGS) 1 is a spectroscopic survey of the entire southern sky with |b| > 10◦, based on the 2MASS near infrared galaxy catalog. It is conducted with the 6dF multi-fiber spectrograph attached to the 1.2-m UK Schmidt Telescope. The survey will produce redshifts for some 170,000 galaxies, and peculiar velocities for about 15,000 and is expected to be complete by June 2005.
متن کاملInstrument selection and evaluation
Recent years have seen rapid increases in the variety, cost and complexity of instruments used in analytical chemistry. Gone are the days when choice was a simple task and any mistake did not lead to a major financial embarassment which had to be lived with for perhaps a decade. Not only is the capital investment required in the laboratory increasing, but, in the present world economic climate,...
